City of Round Rock offering rain barrel discount to encourage conservation
The City of Round Rock’s Water Conservation Program is selling rain barrels at a discounted price to encourage residents to conserve water resources this coming spring.
Customers can pre-order their 50-gallon rain barrels online now through March 25, or until supplies last. The program is not limited to Round Rock residents, allowing anyone to participate and benefit from the discounted offer of $77.50 per barrel. However, City of Round Rock water customers are eligible for additional savings through the City’s Rainwater Collection Rebate program, including a $25 discount for an even lower price of $52.40 after rebate. Retail price for the barrels are normally $146.99 per barrel.
Pre-orders can be placed at rainbarrelprogram.org/roundrock, with no limit on the number of barrels one can purchase. Purchased barrels will be available for pickup from 9 a.m. to 1 pm. on Saturday, April 6 at the Bob Bennett Building located at 3400 Sunrise Road. Order confirmation and pickup details will be sent via email to the address provided at checkout. A barrel is compact enough to fit inside most 4-door sedans or hatchbacks.
