Construction begins on Gattis School Road widening project
A major improvement project to reconstruct Gattis School Road from Windy Park Drive to Cedar Ridge High School is underway.
The project is designed to reduce existing traffic congestion by widening the existing four-lane roadway to a six-lane major divided arterial.
Additional improvements include:
- Pedestrian improvements
- Bicycle enhancements
- Right and left-turn bays at A.W Grimes Boulevard and Double Creek Drive
- A raised center median with median openings at South Creek Drive and Joyce Lane
Drivers should expect some delays and regular traffic pattern changes as the project progresses. Construction is anticipated to take two years to complete.
This project is part of the City’s Transportation Master Plan.
