HPC to consider application to relocate Palm House
At its December 12 meeting the Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) will consider an application to relocate the Andrew J. Palm House from 212 E. Main Street to the Old Settlers Association (OSA) grounds at 3300 E. Palm Valley Blvd. The meeting will be held at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at 212 E. Main Street.
The Palm House was moved downtown from the Palm Farm in 1976, and the Palm Farm later became the OSA grounds and Old Settlers Park. Several Palm Farm structures remain at the OSA grounds, including the barn and a second house. Other historic structures have been moved to the OSA grounds, and the OSA hosts a number of educational events with the Williamson Museum, Including Pioneer Day and Midsommar.
