SHAREit – The New Interlibrary Loan System
In the Spring of 2024, the Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) solicited responses for a new statewide interlibrary loan system to replace Navigator/NRE, which is being discontinued by OCLC in the summer of 2024.
As a result, Round Rock Public Library users who utilize interlibrary loans now have access to the new system, SHAREit, to request materials within the network of Texas libraries. You may request books, audio-visual material, microfilm, or photocopies of journal articles. You must have a city resident card or a paid non-resident card, be at least 18 years old, have had your library card for more than 30 days, and be a member in good standing.
After an evaluation process by internal and external team members, TSLAC’s Commissioners approved the award of a contract with Auto-Graphics, Inc. to implement SHAREit as the statewide interlibrary loan solution for Texas public libraries. Auto-Graphics has been providing ILL services for more than 35 years and SHAREit is used by 16 other statewide resource-sharing groups in the United States.
Please note: We do not charge a fee for ILL services. However, be advised that you may be charged postage fees by the lending library. The average postage cost is $4.00. If your item has a postage fee, come prepared with cash or credit card. Payment is due at pickup.
